Microneedling FAQs

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create tiny microchannels in the skin.
This process stimulates your skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.

What does Microneedling treat?

Microneedling can help improve the appearance of:

Fine lines and wrinkles

Acne scars and enlarged pores

Uneven skin tone and texture

Pigmentation and sun damage

Stretch marks

It’s suitable for most skin types and can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.

How does Microneedling work?

By creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface, Microneedling encourages the body’s natural repair process.
As the skin heals, it produces new collagen and elastin, leading to smoother, plumper, and healthier-looking skin over time.

What are Purasomes and how do they enhance Microneedling?

Purasomes are advanced regenerative serums rich in growth factors, peptides, and antioxidants.

When combined with Microneedling, they are delivered deep into the skin through the microchannels created during treatment. This enhances hydration, accelerates healing, and boosts collagen production — resulting in faster recovery and even more radiant, rejuvenated skin.

How many treatments will I need?

For best results, a course of 3–6 treatments is usually recommended, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
The exact number depends on your skin goals and the area being treated.
Maintenance sessions every few months can help sustain results.

When will I see results?

You may notice an immediate healthy glow after your first treatment, but optimal results develop gradually as new collagen forms.
Most clients see visible improvement after a few weeks, with continued benefits for several months.

Is the treatment painful?

Most clients describe the sensation as mild prickling or tingling.

A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort throughout the procedure.

What is the downtime?

Downtime is minimal.

You may experience redness and slight swelling (similar to mild sunburn) for 24–48 hours, followed by some dryness or light peeling.

You can usually return to normal activities the next day with appropriate aftercare.

Is Microneedling safe?

Yes. When performed by a qualified aesthetic practitioner using sterile, single-use needles, Microneedling is a safe and clinically proven treatment.

Side effects such as redness, sensitivity, or mild bruising are temporary and resolve naturally.

Who is a good candidate for Microneedling?

Microneedling is suitable for men and women who want to:

Refresh and rejuvenate their skin naturally

Improve fine lines, texture, and scarring

Avoid more invasive procedures or lengthy downtime

It may not be suitable if you have active acne, eczema, rosacea, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Your suitability will be assessed during consultation.

How should I care for my skin after Microneedling?

Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying makeup for 24–48 hours

Use only gentle cleansers and fragrance-free moisturisers

Apply SPF 50+ daily and avoid direct sunlight

Do not use exfoliants, retinol, or active acids for at least 7 days

Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and heat treatments for 48 hours

For full details, please see our Microneedling Aftercare page.

How long do the results last?

Results can last several months depending on your age, skin condition, and lifestyle.

Regular maintenance treatments and a good skincare routine will help prolong and enhance your results.

When can I have other treatments?

It’s best to wait at least 2 weeks before having any other cosmetic treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, or chemical peels. This allows your skin to fully recover and ensures the best possible results.
