Sclerotherapy
Nurse-led treatment for leg spider veins in Finchampstead, Berkshire.
About Sclerotherapy
What it is and how it works.
Spider veins (also called thread veins) are small, visible veins that sit close to the surface of the skin.
At Tanton Brown Skin Clinic, Isabel, an NMC-registered Independent Nurse Prescriber, offers sclerotherapy for spider veins on the legs. Her approach aims to reduce their appearance gradually over a short course of treatments.
How it works
A fine needle is used to inject a sclerosing solution into the vein. This irritates the vein lining so it closes and is gradually reabsorbed by the body, and blood flow is redirected to healthier veins. Treated veins fade over the following weeks.
