Sculptra
Nurse-led treatment for gradual facial volume loss in Finchampstead, Berkshire.
About Sculptra
What it is and how it works.
With age and sometimes weight loss, the face loses collagen and underlying support, which can show as hollowing in the cheeks and temples and deeper folds.
At Tanton Brown Skin Clinic, Isabel, an NMC-registered Independent Nurse Prescriber, offers Sculptra, a collagen-stimulating injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Her approach aims to rebuild lost volume gradually, for a natural result rather than an instant change.
How it works
PLLA prompts the skin to produce new collagen. The product is gradually absorbed while that collagen builds, so results develop over several months, usually across a short course of treatments.
Benefits include
- Gradually restores lost volume in areas such as the cheeks, temples, jawline and lower face
- Softens deeper folds
- Helps improve skin firmness and quality over time
- Aims for a gradual, natural-looking result
Treatment guidance
As a rough guide, Galderma (the manufacturer) recommends one vial for each decade of your life. For example, a 45-year-old patient will require approximately 4 vials. Two vials can be injected per session.
For anyone who wants lost volume restored gradually and naturally, never an overfilled look.
