Sclerotherapy Aftercare

To get the best results from your treatment and to help your skin heal, please follow the advice below:

What to expect:

Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness around the injection sites is normal and should settle within a few days.

Small bruises or darkening along the vein may appear but will gradually fade.

Treated veins may look more noticeable at first before they begin to fade over the following weeks.

Do's:

Wear compression stockings as advised — usually for 1–2 weeks after treatment, to support healing and improve results.

Keep moving — gentle walking helps improve circulation.

Use a cold pack on treated areas if needed for comfort (10 minutes at a time).

Protect your skin from the sun with SPF on treated areas to prevent pigmentation changes.

Don'ts:

Avoid vigorous exercise, heavy lifting, or high-impact activities for 1–2 weeks.

Don’t use hot baths, saunas, or steam rooms for at least 1 week.

Avoid long-haul flights for 4 weeks after treatment.

Don’t apply perfumed lotions or self-tanning products to treated areas for 24–48 hours.

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours to help reduce bruising.

Results:

Improvements develop gradually — most veins fade over a few weeks, with full results after several months.

Some veins may require more than one treatment for best results.
